What is community?
It is not a place, a building, or an organization, according to David M. Chavis, PhD, CEO of Community Science, Gaithersburg, Maryland; nor is it an exchange of information over the Internet. “Community is both a feeling and a set of relationships among people. People form and maintain communities to meet common needs. The meaning of community requires more thoughtfulness and deliberation than we typically give it,” Chavis says.
So let’s contemplate!
